You'll love these extra-cushy rugs made with strips of fabric. Customize the size, color, and design to fit your own decor and get ready to make a good dent in your scrap basket.

If you'd like to work on the rug in class, you will need the following items:

Locker hook needle
Rug canvas (I prefer the one with 3.75 squares per inch.)
Fabric strips cut 1¼" wide and sewn together with a diagonal seam. (A half-yard's worth of strips will be enough to get you started in class. You'll probably use 10 to 12 yards of fabric to make a 30" x 36" rug. I told you it's a stash buster!)
cotton yarn/twine (such as Sugar 'n Cream)
