We are in awe that the year is almost halfway over. Didn't we just ring in the New Year? With a brand new grandbaby and child, six new patterns released for Spring Market, a new Craftsy class launched, several new staff members, oodles of samples made for shows, lots of travel, and a new warehouse location, the team at ByAnnie.com has been busy. No wonder the year has moved fast!
We have needed all hands on deck, and we couldn't have done it all without the men behind ByAnnie.com. Though the men may get funny looks from the outside world for working in a "female" industry, we really appreciate having them around. From helping us move things, unloading large shipments of Soft and Stable, running errands around town, getting boxes down from high shelves, and keeping us laughing, we really appreciate our guys, Casey and Kendal. They also manage to keep us laughing with their humor and upbeat attitudes.
Annie and Glo came home from the gym late one night to find Casey hard at work on the computer in his office in the back room. Between snickers and giggles, they'd hear "click click click". Glo kept insisting it was time to go, but Casey just replied, "No, I have to finish my work".
Just what was he working on? Notions Art!

We appreciate that "the boys" want to try new activities to understand our products better and that includes sewing, too!
Did you see our recent blog post, "Boys Can Sew, Too?" Kendal wanted to make a project for his girlfriend who is currently in South America. He and Annie worked together one evening to whip out this beautiful Daytripper 2.0.
Annie cut, clipped, and directed, but Kendal did 99% of the sewing and pressing — even the zippers! We think he did a great job, don't you?

ByAnnie.com is sponsoring the 2016 Road to California Bag Challenge. Click on the image at right for more information and contest rules.
To announce and publicize the challenge, several pattern designers were asked to create a purse using the 20th Anniversary fabric. We have created a line-up to highlight these designers and their bags on our blog each week.
We will have special blog posts every Monday until the end of July. Many of these posts will include giveaways and discount codes so you won't want to miss out.
This week we are giving away some "creatively-cut" packages of Soft and Stable (see our Newsletter Special below). That's TWENTY packages of Soft and Stable given away to you all, just for reading along!
Joan Hawley is one of Annie's heroines in the quilting world. A talented pattern designer and excellent demonstrator, Joan is kind and giving and just plain fun!
Joan recently filmed a class for Craftsy — we are so excited for her! She wrote a nice blog about the Craftsy classes she has taken and featured Annie's class, Sew Sturdy Travel Organizers, as one of them.
Want to sign up for the class, too?
We had such fun at Spring Market in Minneapolis. It's always such fun to see all the new lines of fabric, catch up with old and new friends, and get a good dose of inspiration!
Sherri McConnell and her daughter Chelsi just released a fun new fabric for Moda, Bright Sun. Sherri asked Kait of Knot and Thread to make samples using our Catch All Caddy and Carry On! Travel Bag patterns for display at Market. They turned out lovely!

As we said, we appreciate our men in the warehouse. . . most of the time! Casey and Kendal got a little overzealous one afternoon and realized too late they were cutting 17” pieces of Soft and Stable instead of 18” pieces. Whoops! Let's just say it gave us a good opportunity to explain the “Measure Twice, Cut Once” rule.
Luckily, we found a solution for this problem: They are the perfect size for making two bags using StudioKat's Wrapsody pattern. And, since we're featuring Kat in our 2016 Road to California Bag Challenge blog series this week, we decided to share them with YOU!
Kat generously offered $4 off the Wrapsody pattern exclusively to our blog readers (through June 20). Twenty lucky winners will also win a package of Soft and Stable to make a beautiful bag. Click on the link below for details and to enter. Deadline for entries is June 19, 2015.
Want to win fun prizes for the next eight weeks? Be sure to follow our blog. This week we are linking up with StudioKat to give away twenty 17” x 58” pieces of Soft and Stable. Who knows what the rest of the summer will bring?
