If you're tired of steam irons that spit and leak, the Digital Velocity 100 (V100) is the iron for you!
On most traditional steam irons, the amount of steam is determined by the temperature of the soleplate. If your soleplate isn't hot enough, either you don't get much steam or your iron spits and leaks because the water isn't hot enough.
The Digital Velocity doesn't produce steam with the soleplate heat like traditional irons. Rather it generates the steam within the iron, in a pre-heating chamber.
With this advanced technology, there is no need for a higher soleplate temperature to prevent water spitting. You get amazing steam but can adjust the stainless steel soleplate temperature to your exact fabric needs.
In addition to the internal heating element, the V100 also incorporates an internal pump system that produces more steam continuously (30g/minute) than conventional irons.
The 1800-watt steam iron features two heating elements and a professional stainless-steel soleplate that heats evenly and provides concentrated steam holes at the tip for quicker, more efficient ironing and pressing.
The V100's Eco-Intelligent system saves water and energy by shutting off steam after three seconds of not detecting movement. Simply pick up the iron and begin pressing, and the steam will start automatically. There is no need to touch any buttons. Or the steam may still be turned on/off manually.
I never remember to turn off my iron, so I love the V100's automatic shutoff. For those who prefer their iron to stay on during projects, the V100 also features a Steam Ready feature. This allows the user to temporarily deactivate the auto shut-off (until the iron is unplugged or turned off), so the iron will not shut off unless manually turned off.
The iron's digital thermostat controls the temperature with far greater accuracy than traditional irons and the iron is safe to use on delicate fabrics, too. I can safely use the iron on the lowest temperate setting when making projects incorporating Texture Magic™. And, the Digital Velocity is the only iron to bear the Woolmark Approved symbol for safe use on delicate wool fabrics.
For added convenience, the iron comes equipped with digital temperature control to ensure accuracy. An advanced digital display indicates "power on", the current temperature selection, and when the selected temperature has been reached. An acoustic warning device beeps when the desired temperature is reached, when the auto shut-off safety system is activated, and each time you press a select button.
Other highlights include a 1-4/5-cup water capacity, a replaceable anti-scale cartridge, an 8-1/5-foot cord, and an ergonomically designed handle to reduce hand and wrist stress. The iron measures 12-1/2 by 5 by 6-1/4 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.
Enjoy professional ironing quality and speed with the simplicity of using a traditional iron.

The Reliable Velocity Iron was recommended to me several years ago by a well-known national quilting teacher. I bought one and have used it for five years now. It has never leaked or spit, and I always have terrific steam.
Because the steam is produced in a separate pre-heating chamber rather than by the heat of the soleplate, I can use this iron on the very lowest temperature setting and still have great steam.
This is great when I'm working with Texture Magic™ as I don't have to worry about touching the Texture Magic™ with my hot iron. My temperature setting on the soleplate is low enough that I don't worry about causing the Texture Magic™ to get stiff and crackly as I would with a typical hot iron.
I wholeheartedly recommend this iron!
Customer Comments:
"I purchased my Reliable V100 from another vendor and have had it for a week. I LOVE THIS IRON!
I hate having an iron think it is smarter than I am and turn off while I am sewing seams then I have to twiddle my thumbs while it re-heats.
Five years ago I could only find one iron, one of the Rowenta models, that did not have auto-off. For the last 2 years that iron has puddled on my ironing board, spit on my fabric, had water literally drain from the bottom when I picked it up.
So I replaced it with the Reliable. This iron steams so well it fogs up my glasses! It does go through the distilled water fast, but it is SO worth it.
The Eco feature of turning off the continuous steam when setting upright is great.
I highly recommend this iron.
My only regret of any iron is that the dang rubber cords are no longer covered in that fabric-y insulation like they were when I was growing up! Now THERE'S an 'after-production' product I would purchase from a site like yours...something to cover the rubber cord that drags on the fabric!
Come see us at Spring Market in Kansas City in May. You'll find Annie demonstrating in the Superior Threads booth #2024 to #2034. Hope to see you there!
Please note that orders placed from May 16 through 21, 2012 will not be filled until May 22, 2012. Thanks for your patience.
