You'll be ready for a night on the town when you carry this elegant, stylish handbag.
The finished handbag measures 12"W x 11"H x 5"D.
Fabric texturized with Texture Magic ™ adds interest to the center panel and decorative button and makes this a fashion accessory worthy to take on a walk down the red carpet.
One half-yard package of Texture Magic ™ will texturize enough fabric for two On the Town handbags.
I prefer to use Soft and Stable ™ rather than batting inside the bag as it provides great stability with little extra weight.
Soft and Stable ™ also eliminates the need to quilt the fabric to the "batting", resulting in a very smooth finish to the bag.
One half-yard (18" x 58") package of Soft and Stable ™ is sufficient to make the bag.
Customer Comments:
"I ordered your Soft and Stable last month and made the On the Town purse. It turned out very nice and I wanted to let you know that your directions were very good. It was very easy to make and I enjoyed making it. Thanks for an easy pattern." Pam T.
For the handbag pictured, a decorative stitch was used to stitch the fabric and Texture Magic™ together. (For more info, see the video below.)
The pattern includes directions for making fabric handles or using wooden fashion handles (as pictured).
Numerous inside pockets can be customized to suit your needs.
If desired, you may skip the texturizing step and make the bag with plain or quilted fabrics.
Come see us at Spring Market in Kansas City in May. You'll find Annie demonstrating in the Superior Threads booth #2024 to #2034. Hope to see you there!
