This classy shoulder bag features a stylish assymetrical front flap closure, accented with an optional covered button.
Add interest by using fabric texturized with Texture Magic™ from Superior Threads.
A layer of wool batting placed between the fabric and Texture Magic™ before stitching adds even more dimension to the texturized flap. See the video below for more information.
One half-yard package of Texture Magic™ will texturize enough fabric for three Serenity II Shoulder Bags.
If desired, you may skip the texturizing step and make the shoulder bag with plain or quilted fabrics.
Serenity II has large inside and outside slip pockets and a roomy interior. The bag finishes at about 12"W x 10½"H x 4"D.
Soft and Stable™ works great inside the bag as it provides great stability with little extra weight. It also eliminates the need to quilt the fabric to the "batting", resulting in a very smooth finish to the bag.
This focuses even more attention on the texturized fabric on the flap. You'll need an 18" x 58" package (1/2 yard) of Soft and Stable™ for this project.
(Please note that this is essentially the same pattern as Serenity Shoulder Bag but, because it does not use the special gradated fabric, can be made with a bit less fabric.)
