Make your own classy shoulder bag using the same fabrics (IN A VARIETY OF COLORWAYS) as used for the purse shown on the pattern cover.
In addition to the burgandy fabrics used in the original bag, we are now stocking a beautiful selection of Serenity Taupe prints by Daiwabo in a gorgeous brown/gray/blue combination. These fabrics will make the a perfect "neutral" bag for any occasion.
The Serenity Shoulder Bag is designed to use the darker parts of the gradating fabric for the outside of the bag and the lighter parts for the lining. Complete layout instructions are included in the pattern to help you take full advantage of the gradated fabric.
You'll need 2 yards of the gradating fabric to make the body of the bag, the strap, and the lining.
If you are ordering a pattern or finishing kit for the Serenity Bag (see below), please be sure to specify that you need the original Serenity Shoulder Bag pattern. It includes complete instructions for positioning all the pattern pieces to make best use of the color gradations in the fabric.
For a completely different look, you might consider using this beautiful background fabric in place of the gradating fabric. Because you don't have to be so particular about positioning the pattern pieces, you can also get by with less fabric.
You'll need 1¾ yards of the background fabric to make the body of the bag, the strap, and the lining.
