February 2019 Monthly Photo Contest Winners
One of our favorite things at ByAnnie is getting to see all the beautiful things our customers make using our patterns and products. We love hearing your stories, opinions, and feedback and want to encourage more people to share through our monthly photo contest. Oh, and did we mention you could have a chance to win prizes for all your hard work and creativity?
Grand Prize winners receive a $50 coupon and runners up receive $10 coupons to be used at ByAnnie.com USA! Check out our rules and submission guidelines by clicking the button below!
Since the launch of our monthly photo contest, we've received hundreds of photos of absolutely amazing projects! It's been hard to narrow it down, but the winners below were chosen because the quality of their photographs really let their projects shine.
For the photo contest we are looking for clear, large-sized images. We like to see projects that are well lit and centered nicely in the frame. If possible, we also enjoy seeing multiple angles of a project, or images where we can see how the project will be used. Last, but not least, great photos should also have a clean and clutter-free background. For more tips on how to take great photos, read our blog titled How To Photograph Your Project.
We'd like to congratulate all the winners below! We hope you enjoy reading a bit about their projects. For additional pictures and full stories, be sure to check out our WINNER'S GALLERY!
Grand Prize Winner
Maker: Elaine B.
Pattern: Evelyn Handbag & Market Tote by Swoon Patterns, Necessary Clutch Wallet by Emmaline Bags
Fabric: Packed Purple Florals and Coral fabric from JoAnn Fabric
Story: I was asked by a 94 year old friend to make a wallet. She said she likes the colors pink and peach. So I made the wallet (which has Soft and Stable in the flap). Then I thought it would be nice to surprise her and make a matching purse. The purse has Soft and Stable lining the entire outside fabric, except for the zipper panels. She loved it!

Pattern: Out and About
Fabric: Dots and Daisies (The Park) by Alexander Henry Fabrics; Bubblegum, Hedgerows for Michael Miller Fabrics
Story: Out and About is a new pattern released for the Bag of the Month Club. I couldn’t wait for the first of February to receive the new pattern. I started the bag right away.
The Out and About Bag is darling. I think it is a perfect size for a youngster. The bag has a multitude of pockets. Depending on your needs you could easily delete some. This bag would be perfect for a little girl. I personally would prefer one just like it a little bigger. A version of this bag for adults would be awesome.
The bag has unlimited possibilities depending on fabric chooses.

Maker: Paula F.
Pattern: Heirloom Baby Ensemble
Fabric: Pink satin and flowered organza
Story: I am a reborn artist and that baby won a photo contest. If you're not sure what that is, it is making dolls that look like real babies.
I am in love with all your patterns. I made 5 Travel Essentials make up organizers this year for Christmas gifts. I also made the Ultimate Travel Bag for a trip I took in Nov. Everyone loved it. I am right now working on the Nesting Baskets.

Maker: Rashada C.
Patterns: ByAnnie's Changing Station; Belle Baby Bag by Swoon Patterns
Fabric: South African Shweshwe and Robert Kaufman Black Washed Denim
Story: This was my first ByAnnie pattern, first time sewing PUL (a type of laminate, or something like Slicker) and first time using KAM snaps which I now love (I used these instead of velcro to attach the changing pad).
Quilting the material took a while but the finished result was worth it. I look forward to making another ByAnnie pattern.

Maker: Chris F. (from The Quilt Foundry in Maumee, OH)
Pattern: Just In Case
Fabric: Quantum by Giucy Giuce for Andover; Looking Forward by Jen Kingwell for Moda
Story: When I saw this awesome panel from Giucy Guice, I knew I had to do something special with it! This organizer was the perfect way to feature the panel and add an element of surprise when you open the bag.
After the first bag was made to the pattern specifications, I was inspired to play around with various sizes and highlight different parts of the panel. The smallest one was made from scraps and off-cuts we picked up off the floor!!

Maker: Katie M.
Pattern: Out and About
Fabric: Blush by My Mind’s Eye for Riley Blake
Story: This was my very first ByAnnie project. I was really nervous about the quilting and binding because I am not a quilter. This was also my first time using Soft and Stable! I watched all of Annie’s Add-on Videos, read the pattern, and then tackled the project. I was so pleased with how it came together and Annie’s techniques for doing binding were so helpful.
