ByAnnie Top Voted

WINNER: Jeanne G.

ABOUT: Jeanne sewed this beautiful Travel Essentials using fabric from local fabric store Lewistown’s Sew Pieceful.

THEIR STORY: "This was a my test run to figure out how to use a directional fabric on the outside. I wanted to try it out before I cut into my OOP Tula Pink Elizabeth cameos.

It is a gift for my cousin Stephanie who got married to an Air Force Blackhawk pilot. I thought she might start traveling more and she loves the outdoors. I couldn’t resist using my friend's Serenity Sheep Farm Stay in Belgrade, Montana as the backdrop for the photos."

WHAT WE LOVED: One of our team members said, "This Travel Essentials project is so fun, it's impressive that this was just her trial run because it looks phenomenal! The setting of the photos is so interesting, the turquoise looks SO good with the natural western aesthetic." And we have to agree!

WHAT THEY WON: $50 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Storyteller Award

WINNER: Ginny P.

ABOUT: Ginny shared her story of sewing Take A Stand. We're so excited to hear about travel plans (safely) being made!

THEIR STORY: "After a year of several travel plans getting cancelled, I was ready to Take a Stand and plan a trip! I knew it would involve air travel and a cruise so I wanted to make the perfect Tote for my trip. While visiting my local Sew Much More shop, I spotted the Farah Flowers collection and I could immediately visualize it made up into the Take A Stand pattern ByAnnie. The fabric had a retro look and reminded me of Spring and the bouquet I had on my dining room table.

Of course the pattern instructions were easy to follow. I especially like the fact that Annie has you do all the busy work first. Cutting all the pieces and labeling them. Next Quilting and cutting out small pieces and of course, labeling them. Next, iron on that interfacing. And finally sewing all the "sub-Assemblies".

Then the fun begins... Putting the tote together. If you were accurate in your cutting, everything fits together perfectly. I loved the new way she had us put in the zipper with the tail that tucked under the loop on End B. And the Mesh Pockets on the inside will keep all my necessities easy to find. The two outside zipper pockets will be perfect for my Cell Phone and Passport in the front and my mini iPad in the back.

When I was finished with the Tote, I had some quilted scrapes left over and I did as Annie suggested, I made another small project. You will see in the picture there is a 5" x 6" purse. It is the perfect size for my Passport and on the back side I put in a clear piece of Vinyl to display my COVID Vaccine Card. I don't know if I will need to show it, but I am ready.

By the way, my sister and I are now booked on a Transatlantic Crossing in December to Visit London at Christmas and you can bet, my Take a Stand will be right by my side, cross body that is!

Thanks Annie for another wonderful pattern."

The ByAnnie patterns are very easy to follow and I was confident that my daughter would have a gift she will be proud to give."

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Saree

ABOUT: Saree shared the joy she had when presenting the Out To Lunch she sewed!

THEIR STORY: "My dad retired, so after staying home for 28 years, my mom needed a job for health insurance. She said all the other ladies at work had cute lunch boxes/bags, and she just had a brown paper bag. So I made her the Out To Lunch! She said everyone noticed it as soon as she walked in, and they HAD to check it out - even with her lunch inside! She loved showing it off, and the ladies couldn't believe her daughter made it for her! This is why I sew! "

WHAT WE LOVED: One team member said, "I love the colors and fabric she chose for the Out To Lunch bag she made as a gift. Who wouldn't love that fun bag?" Indeed!

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Carisa L.

ABOUT: Carisa reached out to us through email and we couldn't help but include her note and images.

THEIR STORY: "I wanted you to know that I only found your patterns and tutorials in February of this year - I got a free “Easy Does It” pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop. I tried it on a whim in between quilting projects and it seems that was a mistake on my part - I can’t stop making your bags!????

Honestly the first bag turned out better than I thought my skills would allow so I tried another one. And another. I quickly gained confidence in my sewing and have since made 8 Easy Does It, then moved to my favorite, Bowl Me Over. I’ve made 5 of those, one ultimate travel bag, a few ditty bags, one Divide and Conquer (a challenge but turned out wonderful) and am currently working on my first backpack; Back At Ya.

I am just delighted with your patterns and Add-on Videos. They (and you!) have brought me so much joy and have expanded my hobby into something even more meaningful than ever. I can’t thank you enough for posting the videos. And boy, did I start at the right place with Easy Does It. That pattern truly paves the way for most all other patterns, and is a real confidence booster.

What a difference you’ve made in my life. Thank you, Annie. Making your bags is helping me in more ways than you can know."

WHAT WE LOVED: We loved that Carisa shared so much and we were so excited to see the photos she sent.
