Introducing Focal Point
Randi Jones

I spy an awesome new pattern!

Focal Point is perfectly designed to cushion and protect glasses, cords, tools, and more.

Its sleek design allows it to easily slide into a bag or purse. Use your favorite fabrics to make a stylish matching set!

The pattern includes instructions for cases in three styles, each in two sizes.

The double case holds bulkier items in two slip pockets, while the other two styles feature our new Tool-Free Snaps for easy and secure closure.

Inspiration from our Pattern Testers

Special thanks to our pattern testers, who not only check for errors, but make sure that our patterns are written as clearly as possible. They also do some fabulous sewing!

TESTER: Jennifer @taughtbymomquilts

FABRIC: De La Luna by Tula Pink for FreeSpirit Fabrics

TIPS: “Very straightforward project, unless you try to fussy cut the main fabric. If you do want to fussy cut, hold the directional fabric and templates up to a window or a light box. That Purple Thang is your friend, and the tip to use pinking shears is spot on!”

TESTER: Kelly @kstevens_16

FABRIC: Sagewood by Moda

TIPS: “I like to backstitch a few stitches before and after the 90 degree turns. I feel this tightens the corner and makes the end product look nicer after it’s turned right side out. Lengthen your stitch length when topstitching. It always gives a nicer look.”

TESTER: Kristen @stitchfabriccompany

FABRIC: Slow and Steady, Parisville Deja Vu, and True Colors by Tula Pink for FreeSpirit Fabrics

TIPS: “I found the pattern very easy and a great way to use up scraps.”

TESTER: Nyree

FABRIC: Ombre faux leather and batik

TIPS: “The closure for the Flap Case could be hook & loop tape, with the stitching on front obscured by a ByAnnie Leather Label.” (See photo of case front below.)

TESTER: Randi @randisroost

FABRIC: Tree of Life by August Wren for Dear Stella

TIPS: “Use a 1/4" zipper foot when sewing close to the snap. Use the eraser end of a pencil to poke out the corners.”

TESTER: Sandy

FABRIC: Wallflower and Chambray Plaid by Tilda

TIPS:The ByAnnie Stiletto and Pressing Tool was very helpful!”
