Introducing Two Little Totes!

If you enjoyed our Two Big Totes pattern, you will love its little sister, Two Little Totes!

Similar in design but more compact in size, Two Little Totes are perfect for carrying the essentials.

The pattern includes instructions for totes in two sizes that are perfect for daily use, shopping, carrying a craft project, and more.

These totes open wide for easy access, yet close securely with a zipper to keep your items safe. When open, the zipper is designed to fall flat against the inside of the bag so it stays out of the way.

These totes are made to last, with sturdy carrying handles and a reinforced base.

The exterior front of each tote features a combination slip and zip pocket that is perfect for keeping smaller items safe and easy to access. The exterior storage is rounded out by another slip pocket on the back.

On the inside of each tote, you'll find plenty of ways to organize your belongings. On the inside front is a slip pocket which is divided into three sections. And, on the back, you will find a bellowed divider that is perfect for a water bottle or anything you want to keep upright and within easy reach.

Whether you need a grab-and-go bag for your latest project or a handy bag for everyday use, Two Little Totes have you covered!

Finished Sizes:

  • Small: 9"H x 10½"W x 6"D
  • Medium: 11"H x 13"W x 5"D

Inspiration from our pattern testers

Our wonderful pattern testers made some gorgeous bags that are sure to inspire you. We really appreciate all they do to help us!

Jade of Lovely Jubbly Fabrics made this colorful tote using Tula Pink’s Untamed, Neon True Colors, and Tiny Dots.

Jade opted for uncovered webbing, and we love how perfectly it matches her fabrics!

Jan made this fun tote with Slow and Steady by Tula Pink and Thatched by Robin Pickens. We love the contrast of the solid coordinating fabric. Darker fabric like this is always a smart choice for handles.

Our pattern testers know that Tula Pink fabrics and ByAnnie bags are an ideal match. The open spaces on these totes are perfect for showcasing Tula’s big, beautiful prints.

Jennifer (Instagram: @taughtbymomquilts) made this show-stopping Two Little Totes with Tula Pink’s Untamed line. We're sure she receives tons of compliments!

We love how Jennifer fussy cut one large flower for each of the outer pockets.

Laurie made this fun and colorful Two Little Totes using Party by Robert Kaufman. She's looking forward to using it as an everyday purse.

It would be perfect for a trip to Disneyland, too!

Randi made her Two Little Totes with Sunset Coast by Wishwell for Robert Kaufman.

She added some special touches to her bag by using metallic faux leather by Oh Sew Pretty Custom Fabric as well as a matching mermaid charm, bag tag, and rivets.

Randi fussy cut the mermaids so they would be centered on each outer pocket.

Even though these photos show the bag in the snow, it’s destined for some nice walks along the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore!

Nancy did a beautiful job on her Two Little Totes and her purse from our Night and Day pattern coordinates perfectly!

She used Radiant Reflections by Morris Creative Group for QT Fabrics. Check out that fussy cutting on the front pocket. Beautiful!

ByAnnie's Premium Clear Vinyl made the perfect base for Nancy's tote and will make it easy to wipe the bottom clean.

Nyree made her absolutely stunning Two Little Totes with Dragonfly Dance by Northcott. This fabric pairs beautifully with the textured vinyl she used for her bag bases.

The interior of Two Little Totes is more spacious than you might think!

The bellowed divider keeps a water bottle upright while slip pockets tame other small items and keep them within easy reach.

The wide-open interior has plenty of space for the day’s essentials, and a convenient zipper keeps everything secure.

The zipper folds flat against the inside of the bag when open.

Add a sturdy base stabilizer to give even more structure to the bag and keep heavier items secure.

Grete found perfect fabric in her stash for both sizes of Two Little Totes. These beauties look ready for travel! We love the peacocks and houses on the pockets.

Kim used a fun combination of fabrics from Tula Pink’s Curiouser and Curiouser and True Colors lines to make this colorful Two Little Totes. Tula’s webbing by Renaissance Ribbonswas the perfect choice for the handles.

Kera made her lovely Two Little Totes using Modern Vintage by Rachel Rossi for Benartex. This line will be available at local quilt shops starting in June.

Are you ready to make your own Two Little Totes? Their small size and simplified construction make them lots of fun to make. You'll love that the front and back are assembled separately and everything is flat until the very last steps.

We filmed a step-by-step overview of the whole project in the Add-on Video for this pattern. And the pattern comes with a coupon code that makes the Add-on Videos free!

Be sure to enter your Two Little Totes in our Monthly Photo Contest for a chance to win a ByAnnie shopping trip!
