Throughout October, we joined an incredible lineup of makers for our annual blog hop—filled with creativity, education, and heart. Each participant shared projects, stories, and resources to inspire sewing for a cause and raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

Crinkle Dreams: Teresa highlighted Skin Cancer Awareness with her fun Pinch Me Pouch. She shared early detection tips and reminded us: Catching any cancer early is the best way to beat it, so take the time to be aware of your body, any changes in appearance, or how you are feeling.
Penny Spool Quilts: Monika focused on childhood cancer, showing her plans for Project Bags 2.0 made from orphan blocks. She also shared an awesome tutorial for scrappy mug rugs. Check it out!
Fat Quarter Shop: Our friends at the Fat Quarter Shop are helping raise money for cancer research with a new cross stitch pattern and some exclusive notion sets. They also shared a free FPP pattern and tutorial for a 12.5" square awareness block.
A Bright Corner: Andy shares Two Scoops, a free scrap-friendly quilt pattern inspired by the love she received during her own cancer journey. In her 9th year as a survivor, she encourages self-care, early detection, and creating comfort quilts for those in treatment or healing.
Inquiring Quilter: Jennifer shares her diagnosis story and stresses the importance of mammograms. Early detection saved her life! She offers multiple ways to support loved ones including making her Ribbon of Hope quilt and sewing the free Bosom Buddy for seat belt comfort post-surgery. She even hosts a giveaway with ByAnnie patterns and kits! Enter by midnight ET on October 31, 2025, for a chance to win.

Mx Domestic: Mathew made a woven Drop Zone pattern using fabric weaving to create a vibrant, textured design symbolizing hope and resilience. They highlight the #SewPINK Initiative’s message of awareness, early detection, and community support in the fight against breast cancer.
Clover & Violet: Jennie crafted a radiant quilt block called “But Make It Gold,” using creativity to shine a light on childhood cancer awareness. Through her design, she reflects on the meaning behind the golden hues and the heartfelt inspiration that guided her process.
Mija Handmade: Erin assembled spooky Nesting Baskets featuring a Pump Queen quilt block lid, perfect for Halloween decor. She shares tips on using these baskets for party essentials and highlights the significance of early cancer screenings.
Sew Mariana: Mariana created a teal Project Bag featuring a heart block made from her Heart Bits quilt design, symbolizing strength and love. She dedicated her project to her late sister, raising awareness for cervical cancer while honoring the #SewPINK mission of prevention, early detection, and hope.
Diary of a Quilter: Amy highlighted heartfelt ways to bring comfort to those affected by breast cancer, from sewing mastectomy pillows and post-surgery camisoles to crafting ByAnnie’s Bosom Buddy seat belt covers. She also emphasizes the life-saving value of regular mammograms and inspires others to show care through sewing and charitable acts.
Lizard Creek Quilting: Terri honors her late grandmother, who died of Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, by creating a lime green In the Mix pattern and fabrics from a quilt inspired by her grandmother’s cookie trays, connecting family memories, creativity, and the #SewPink initiative to raise cancer awareness.

Joyful & Merry Quilting: Mary joined the #SewPINK Blog Hop this year to celebrate her friend Cheryl, designing the Four Times a Star quilt where each star and ribbon-colored section honors one of Cheryl’s four cancer battles, highlighting her courage, resilience, and spreading awareness for all types of cancer.
Bobbin with Brittany: Honoring the late Sue Timchack (also known as Stitchin’ with Sue on YouTube), Brittany raises awareness for glioblastoma, a fast-growing brain cancer. The author created an On the Go 2.0 bag with thoughtful compartments to support patients during doctor visits and treatments, highlighting practical quilting solutions while sharing resources and ways to donate to glioblastoma research.
Patchwork Breeze: Nancy focuses on childhood cancer, creating a Stash and Dash organizer using gold fabric to represent awareness. She shares her Fabric Wonder Weaving technique, practical design ideas for busy families, and offers a free Pillow Pocket Tote pattern to inspire sewing projects that support children and families affected by cancer.
Knot & Thread: Kait created a Pallas Pouch using hot pink fabric and a paper-pieced ribbon block to honor breast cancer awareness. The project highlights self-care, early detection, and support for those affected, demonstrating how handmade items can carry both essentials and hope while inspiring others to stitch with purpose year-round.
Cherrywood Fabrics: Remembering their late founder, Dawn Hall, Nathania highlighted cancers affecting women and AFAB people with a Zipper Pillow inspired by awareness ribbons. Using their signature fabrics and ByAnnie zippers, the project blends color, craftsmanship, and purpose, showing how sewing can raise awareness while celebrating creativity.
The Sewing Loft: Heather reflects on the impact of cancer, emphasizing the emotional battles caregivers, family members, and friends face. She shared a Drop Zone bag in shades of purple and pink, representing bladder and breast cancer. The bag also serves as a meaningful reminder to breathe, do the things we love, and make time for the small joys that fill our cups.
Angela Pingel Designs: Angela highlights the In Control caddy as a practical and cheerful project that helps manage everyday life while raising awareness for cancer detection. Using heart- and pink-themed fabrics, the caddy blends functionality and charm with multiple pockets and dividers, offering organization, comfort, and a reminder to stay in control, even when living with chronic illness.
Mia Presley Design: Lissa honors loved ones affected by cancer with Sewfinity's 12" paper-pieced ribbon block in a project she called The Gift of Hope. Using soft pink tones and her Sugar Plum fabrics, the project symbolizes hope, love, and celebration of life. Whether sewing for yourself, a loved one, or to raise awareness, Lissa hopes The Gift of Hope inspires us all to hold onto kindness, courage, and compassion.
Sew Cute and Quirky: Brianna celebrates her sister, a five-year breast cancer survivor, by sewing a Grab Some Grub lunch bag and an On the Go 2.0 crossbody bag. Using colorful fabrics, the project celebrates life after treatment and serves as a reminder to cherish loved ones, raise awareness, and promote preventative care.
Art Quilts by Design: Sondrasa shines a light on ovarian cancer awareness, represented by the teal ribbon. She created a Jet Set II bag using cherished fabrics from a past memorial quilt, turning her project into one of healing and remembrance. With thoughtful bag-making tips and a Free Awareness Ribbon Applique pattern, she encourages others to sew with purpose, spreading awareness and hope through every stitch.
Snuggle Quilts: Deanne’s focuses on colorectal cancer awareness, symbolized by the blue ribbon. She shares her family’s experience with the disease, highlights the importance of early detection and preventive measures, and offers tips on reducing risk through diet and exercise. To support the cause, she’s sharing a free PDF pattern called Shining Stars, available through the end of 2025.
Quilting Elissa: Elissa highlights progress in treatment and ongoing disparities, particularly higher mortality rates among Black women and barriers in under-served communities. She created a Bella Quilt Coat using Tula Pink’s Homemade fabric collection to inspire hope and show support for those fighting breast cancer and their loved ones.
