#SewPINK 2026
October is here and we’re excited to kick off another year of the #SewPINK Initiative!
Since 2019, #SewPINK has brought our sewing community together to raise awareness, encourage regular screenings, support those affected by cancer, and give back to cancer research and other meaningful causes.
While October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our commitment to awareness and support goes beyond one month or one type of cancer. Throughout the year, we can all make a difference by taking care of ourselves, encouraging others to do the same, and using our creative talents to support those around us..
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
One of the most important things you can do is take care of your own health.
Take some time to understand your personal cancer risk. Your age, family history, and other individual factors can all play a role. A risk assessment can be a helpful starting point for learning more about your risk and preparing for a conversation with your healthcare provider.
Talk with your healthcare provider about the screenings that are appropriate for you. If you are due for a screening, make that appointment!
Early detection can make a significant difference, and knowing your personal risk can help you and your healthcare provider make informed decisions about your care.
SEW WITH PURPOSE
There’s something special about making something with your own hands, and even more special when that project can bring comfort, encouragement, or a smile to someone else.
Throughout October, we’ll share projects, ideas, stories, and resources to inspire you to sew with purpose. Whether you make a Bosom Buddy for someone recovering from surgery, sew a project simply because it brings you joy, or create something to share with someone you love, every stitch can be meaningful.
