Upcoming Events - April, 2018
Sewing and quilting don’t have to be hobbies you can only enjoy on your own. There’s a wide variety of events, guilds, and classes to participate in, and an entire community online for you to share your passion with!
It’s incredible to be a part of this community, and we take every opportunity we can to be involved! Annie loves being able to teach classes at different shops, and our team enjoys participating in shows and festivals. We also think it's so much fun being able to support guilds and shops with the various events they host.

International Quilt Festival – Quilts, Inc.
Iron Quilter Challenge
Chicago, IL
April 13-14, 2018
As part of the festivities of the International Quilt Festival in Chicago, they hold an incredibly fun event called the Iron Quilter Challenge. In this event, a team of 5 quilters has just 2 hours to complete a quilt from start to finish!
During the 2 hour time period, as the sewists are furiously making their quilts, prizes (big and small) are awarded to the audience. To join in the excitement, and for a chance to win some free ByAnnie gifts, make sure to get your tickets now!

Bluebonnet Shop Hop
8 Shop Locations in Texas
April 12 -14, 2018
The Bluebonnet Shop Hop has been going on for 20 years! Eight stores participate, each with extended store hours for the days of the event. Aside from the fun of getting to travel around to different stores, one of the main purposes of the event is to create quilts to be donated to charity.
Participants are asked to create special 12” blocks which can later be made into quilts. Judges will deliberate to determine which blocks are best and most creative, and prizes are awarded to the winners. This year, the theme is all about kids. The blocks will then be made into quilts which will be donated to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin & Children’s Hopistal in San Antonio.
Aside from getting a chance to receive some fun ByAnnie prizes at each store, each individual shop will be holding their own drawings and a free giveaway will be awarded to each “Hopper”!

County Line Quilter’s Guild
Path Around the Garden Quilt Show
Jamison, PA
April 14-15, 2018
County Line Quilter’s Guild has been helping educate quilters for over 30 years. They also use their love for sewing and quilting to support charitable causes for women in domestic abuse situations, needy or neglected children, as well as the elderly in their community.
This April, they’re holding their bi-annual quilt show with a fantastic quilt exhibit and educational seminars throughout the days. ByAnnie gifts as well as other donations will be given as door prizes to attendees, and you can have fun voting for your favorite quilts too!

April 14-15, 2018
This exciting event is both a shop hop, and a retreat! Eight shops hire a 56-passenger luxury coach each, as well as make hotel arrangements and host meals for hundreds of quilters. Then, each participant gets taken on a special tour to all 8 quilt shops, each hosting a variety of fun events, special promotions and fantastic giveaways!
Not only could you get the chance to win some fun ByAnnie doorprizes, but it’s a great chance to see the wonderful scenery, make new friends and shop ‘til you drop!
Get Involved!
It’s easy for you to get involved with the quilting community too! Find events in your area by going online, or asking your local quilt shop for suggestions. When possible, take advantage of locally taught classes or join a quilt guild. These are excellent ways for you to learn new skills, make great friends, get inspired and share your knowledge!
