May I sell items that I make using your patterns?

General Pattern Info

The copyright notice on most patterns we sell allows you to make up to ten items for gift or for sale.


You can find that notice in the pattern you are making. (It is usually in fine print on the first page of the pattern.)


If you'd like to make more than ten items from a pattern, please contact us. We review additional requests on a case-by-case basis.


If you are selling the item, please include this info in the listing for the item and on a tag attached to the item:

  • Name of the pattern used
  • The name of the pattern’s designer
  • Our website where the pattern may be purchased: ByAnnie.com

Here are some examples of how you can meet the notice requirements:


Patterns By Annie and ByAnnie.com patterns


Situation: You have made a bag using our Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 pattern and you are selling it on an Etsy site. 


In the description of the bag on the Etsy site and on a tag attached to the bag, please include this information:


"This bag was made using the Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 pattern which was designed by Annie Unrein of www.ByAnnie.com."



Quilting Elissa patterns


Situation: You have made a coat from Elissa’s Bella Quilt Coat pattern and customized it using her Bella Accent Sleeves pattern. You are selling the coat at a local craft boutique.


In the description of the item and on a tag attached to the item, please include this information:


"This coat was made using the Bella Quilt Coat pattern and the Bella Accent Sleeves patterns designed by Elissa Ziccardi of www.quiltingelissa.com. These patterns are available for purchase at www.ByAnnie.com”.
