November 2018 Photo Contest Winners
One of our favorite things at ByAnnie is getting to see all the beautiful things our customers make using our patterns and products. We love hearing your stories, opinions, and feedback and want to encourage more people to share through our monthly photo contest. Oh, and did we mention you could have a chance to win prizes for all your hard work and creativity?
Grand Prize winners receive a $50 coupon and runners up receive $10 coupons to be used at ByAnnie.com USA! Check out our rules and submission guidelines by clicking the button below!
Since the launch of our monthly photo contest, we've received hundreds of photos of absolutely amazing projects! It's been hard to narrow it down, but the winners below were chosen because the quality of their photographs really let their projects shine.
For the photo contest we are looking for clear, large-sized images. We like to see projects that are well lit and centered nicely in the frame. If possible, we also enjoy seeing multiple angles of a project, or images where we can see how the project will be used. Last, but not least, great photos should also have a clean and clutter-free background. For more tips on how to take great photos, read our blog titled How To Photograph Your Project.
We'd like to congratulate all the winners below! We hope you enjoy reading a bit about their projects. For additional pictures and full stories, be sure to check out our WINNER'S GALLERY!
Grand Prize Winner
Maker: Kelsey H.
Pattern: Totally Trendy Totes 2.0
Fabric: Sirena by Jessica Swift for Art Gallery Fabrics
Story: This was my first time making a large bag using Soft and Stable. I LOVE IT!! It was so easy to work with and the bag came out perfect.
I love to take this bag to the beach, grocery shopping, or just to hold things at my house. It even looks pretty just waiting to go on an outing!
My favorite part of the bag is the front pocket. I wanted it to stand out more, so I chose a contrasting fabric. I love it! Everything about this bag makes me happy!

Pattern: Sew Sturdy Essential Backpack (from Annie's Craftsy class) / Back At Ya 2.0
Fabric: Capsules Stargazer by AGF Studios for Art Gallery Fabrics
Story: I made this backpack for my wonderful grandson, Will, who is three years old and recently started preschool. It’s the fifth ByAnnie pattern that I’ve sewn. They get much easier with each time I make one.
The important thing I’ve learned is to follow all of Annie’s instructions to the letter. There is a reason for everything she suggests. The construction method is brilliant! I recommend the Craftsy video that goes along with this pattern. It’s fun to sew along with Annie!
Often the projects seem daunting at first, but if you take it one step at a time, before you know it, your bag is done!

Maker: Karen E.
Pattern: Catch All Caddy
Fabric: Zuma by Tula Pink for FreeSpirit Fabrics, Grunge Basics - Grey from Moda
Story: The Catch All Caddy is a pattern I’ve had in my possession for several years. I put it off thinking it was too difficult until I made the Ultimate Travel Bag. I felt I could now conquer the Catch All Caddy.
Once you’ve completed one of Annie’s bag you start to get it and the other bags become easier to master. My tip for anyone making a bag is to hang in there. It gets easier.
Annie’s bag are addictive. I am know looking at fabrics differently. What bag can I make out of that fabric?

Pattern: Treasures & Trinkets (Medium)
Fabric: Kashmir by Rosemarie Lavin for Windham Fabrics
Story: I had been making bags for several years and recently took up quilting. This project married my old and new interests and I love the outcome!
I signed up for a hand-appliqué block-of-the-month class at my LQS so I made the Treasures and Trinkets case to store and carry my tools to class.
The girls in the LQS loved it and are wanting to make one for themselves!
