Ideas to Spark the Conversation!

These are simply suggestions to get your creativity flowing. Take inspiration from what our contributors have shared in the past, or come up with something entirely your own!

  • Share a personal story. Tell us about your own experience with cancer or how cancer has affected someone you love. You might share a story of survivorship, honor someone you’ve lost, or offer encouragement and hope. (See example)
  • Create a project that spreads awareness. Sew a project inspired by a cancer awareness color, ribbon, or meaningful symbol, and share facts, resources, or screening information with your readers. (See example)
  • Make something in honor or memory of someone special. Let your project tell a story by incorporating meaningful colors, fabrics, or details that celebrate a loved one or support those going through cancer. (See example)
  • Give something back. Consider hosting a giveaway, offering a free pattern or tutorial, or donating a project or a portion of proceeds to a cancer-related organization. (See example)
  • Share helpful resources. Along with your project, point readers toward cancer screening resources, support organizations, or other information that could help raise awareness and encourage action. (See example)
  • Simply sew and share! Your #SewPINK post doesn't have to be complicated. A fun project, a meaningful story, and a few words about why cancer awareness matters to you can make a difference.
