ByAnnie Top Voted

WINNER: Lynn B

PATTERN: Clam Up

THEIR STORY:  I love to embellish my by Annie bags with embroidery, applique, and trims to make them unique.

The Clam Up is a perfect canvas for creativity. They would make great gifts for kids of any age. My favorite of all time is the Chris Mouse. It just makes you smile. The marabou trim puts it over the top, in my humble opinion. I also made a dog to go with the cat and bunny, but can't find it, and put EPP flower blocks on another. The possibilities are only limited by one's imagination.

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say, "What fun to see all the ways that Lynne has modified Clam Up to turn it into something fun. I can't decide whether I like the mouse or the snowman best. They are all SO cute and sure to be appreciated!"

WHAT THEY WON: $50 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Storyteller Award

WINNER: Patricia  W

PATTERN: Two Big Totes

THEIR STORY:  I simply fell in love with this collection of fabric. I love my garden and nature especially bees and the flowers that attract them. I used to be a keen gardener but health issues has seen me having to take a step back from the hobby I loved. However every cloud has a silver lining, and this led to me having more time to be able to further my love of creating.

Still inspired by the natural world I was able to combine this beautiful fabric with one of Annie's beautiful and practical designs, 2 big totes . The large size is just perfect for so many things. The first one I made from the collection, I made for a friend to cheer her up, she had been going through a rough time and recently lost her beloved horse Rosie. She adores her Tote Bag and takes it everywhere with her.

So I then strived to make a second for myself. Learning from what I over came on the first attempt, I was able to build on my skills. One of the things I learned from the first bag was the importance of accurate measuring! I discovered it makes a whole world of difference if you take the time to measure and sew accurately following the pattern instructions.

I found if you think oh it will be ok, it seems to have a knock on effect along the line. Although many minor imperfections are all part of learning and makes it unique so I don't stress too much and we are often our own worse critics. The great joy is having fun in the making process.

I wanted to bring out the beautiful lavender colours in the darker fabric so co ordinated it with the lovely lavender fabric and one of Annie's fabulous zips in a gorgeous shade of lilac. I hope you like the effect.

The other reason this bag is so special to me is that I had only just discovered the gorgeous sewing shop, I bought it from, in the Local seaside town of Llandudno, here in North Wales in the UK. Its called the Quilting Bee.

On this, my very first visit I had a wonderful surprise, as did anyone else in the shop, when a celebrity from a very popular TV show, here in the UK, called The Great British Sewing Bee, walked into the shop. The lovely Patrick Grant is very well known and I could not believe he was in there chatting to me about what I was going to make with the fabric I was just paying for at the counter. Hence my By Annie's big tote bag is an extra special treasure for me. I have included a photo with the man himself.

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say, " I loved the way Patricia photographed her lovely bag with the bread and wine and lavender. Absolutely beautiful photos and setting! It was also really fun to hear about her trip to a local store and the change encounter with a start of the Great British Sewing Bee. What fun! I hope she was carrying her lovely tote so that she could show it off to him!"

QE Level Up

WINNER: Joan C

PATTERN: Bella Quilt Coat, Bella Accent Sleeves, Bella Arcs & Beauties

THEIR STORY:  I have been Sewing for many years and I really like to try something different. This pattern was perfect to expand my sewing skills and test my patience. I enjoyed making it this jacket and it actually fits!!

WHAT WE LOVED: Elissa had this to say, "It takes confidence to step outside your comfort zone, especially when it involves learning new techniques. Joan embraced the challenge, expanded her skills, and ended up with a coat that fits beautifully and is something she can be proud of.

I love the cool color palette of soft lavenders, aqua, teal, and lime in the Bella Accent Sleeves and Bella Arcs & Beauties on the front of the coat. Those fresh colors pair perfectly with the dragonfly motifs, allowing them to really "pop" throughout the design. The dragonfly print on the collar is a great finishing touch, and the splash of bright green from the lining at the turned cuffs adds just the right amount of contrast.

The back panel featuring Bella Arcs & Beauties is a standout, too. The concentric foundation paper pieced rings create depth and movement, and the thoughtful color placement gives the design a clean, cohesive look. The center motif shines on the coat back!

Way to go, Joan, on stepping outside your comfort zone and creating a Bella Quilt Coat that's uniquely yours. Your willingness to learn new skills and see the project through is exactly what the Level-Up Award celebrates.

Congratulations, Joan! I can't wait to see what you create next!"

SewPINK (Charity Highlight)

WINNER: Ruth C

PATTERN: Sun Visors, Road Trip, Carrying Strap and Pad

THEIR STORY:  They need help! Desperately!

My friend heads up a non-profit in Cook County (Chicago). Her organization serves the older population with connecting them with resources to help with all their varying needs .

Their help comes in many forms, such as: finding a care giver, arranging housing, providing transportation, or getting meals.

Unfortunately, they lost their federal funding as a social service agency.

So, what you have pictured is my donation for their up coming fund raising. It's a silent auction.

I have chosen to make a road trip travel set. It includes by Annie's Road Trip travel bag, a sun visor, a carrying strap and pad. It also has a sun glass case and a travel cup (with 2 little ducks in the cup for fun!).

May this road trip travel set help bring some of the much needed funds so they can keep serving our seniors.

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say, "What a beautiful ensemble Ruth made for the fundraiser for seniors. I know whoever won the raffle was thrilled!"

WHAT THEY WON: $15 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Kaat V

PATTERN: On the Go

THEIR STORY:  Project "On the Go"

I wanted to make a pouch for my bare essentials to take to a KF retreat … my phone, power bank, card holder, earbuds, and sunglasses.

The original pattern wasn't much bigger than my everyday sling bag, so... why not make it 1" wider and deeper?

The tiny inner pockets and the name tag didn't make the cut. Instead, I added two full-width interior slip pockets. I carefully worked out all the new measurements, wrote everything down, and got started.

I already had the shoulder strap (from my BMO), so I was able to use the same fabrics: KF's Cloisonné, Strato, and a few Shot Cottons.

All the pieces were prepared, and I was ready for a smooth sew... or so I thought!

When I tried to clip the front panel to the zipper/side strip, everything felt really tight. And because I had already attached the binding, there was absolutely no stretch left. That's when I suddenly realised what I'd done... I had completely forgotten to add that extra inch to the zipper strip and side strip!

No need to panic? I cut the side strip in half at the bottom, inserted an extra piece, and crisis averted.  As if that wasn't enough, a little later I had to unpick an entire finished edge because it had gone completely wonky. Not exactly my favorite part of sewing... 🫣

But all's well that ends well! Everything came together beautifully in the end, and I'm really happy with the finished pouch.

The moral of the story? Read and re-read your own notes too; measure twice, cut once... and sometimes be prepared to sew in some extra inches anyway!

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say, "Enjoyed reading about how Kaat adapted the On the Go bag and dealt with the challenges. She has a great attittude and does beautiful work!"

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Char J

PATTERN: Open Wide

THEIR STORY:  I had wanted to make a bag for a while, I love the colors and the big flower embroidery and the bees were just perfect.

This bag holds so much, I use it for literally everything! It has inspired me to make many more ByAnnie bags- but this is by far my most creative

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say, "The Tula Pink embroidery designs added to the Open Wide take them to the next level. And Char's perfect join of the fabrics at the bottom is impressive!"

WHAT THEY WON: $15 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Gina P

PATTERN: Got Your Back

THEIR STORY:  I was inspired to make this backpack for my 4-year-old granddaughter, Amara. She loves dinosaurs and wanted a backpack of her own.

I learned how to sew in hidden magnets and create my own covered straps, which allowed me to bring this special project to life.

To make it even more special, I created a matching dinosaur-themed hair bow and added a barrette to the back so she could wear it as a fun accessory. The bow was completely original—I designed and created the pattern myself rather than using an existing pattern.

This project was made with love, creativity, and my granddaughter in mind. Seeing her excitement when she received her one-of-a-kind backpack made every stitch worth it

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say, "Loved seeing the awesome dino backback that she made for her granddaughter and the extra ribbon and barrette to match. What a grandma!"
