We had tons of gift this month. Some lucky babies, nieces, and even stuffies. Our winner was a long-haul traveler and we also featured a staff member and his adapted Bosom Buddy for travelling.

ByAnnie Top Voted

WINNER: Kathy M

ABOUT: Road Trip is living up to its name.

THEIR STORY: “It was meaningful for me to take these photos at the lake house my parents built 35 years ago in rural Wisconsin. Every year I travel several days in a small RV to this property now owned by my niece and family. Road Trip has made my journeys so much easier as everything I might need during the day of driving is right at my finger tips.

I love color; the bold purples and greens spoke to me as I chose the fabrics. The best part of all Annie’s bags is keeping me organized and I always feel better being organized!"

WHAT WE LOVED: The light in these pictures were all done very well. I really liked the portrait mode, made the bag the focus of the picture.

WHAT THEY WON: $50 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Storyteller Award

WINNER: Kathy G

ABOUT: Some favorite stuffed animals make a home in this custom Ditty Bag.

THEIR STORY: "Meet Snake, Coconut & Kola, our traveling companions. Each has their own unique personality.

Snake, the oldest at 43, loves sleek sports cars, especially the Chevy Corvette.

Coconut, the black & white puppy, loves Cleveland Indians baseball, and anything with coconut in it, especially Ice Cream. He is 41. Kola, is the youngest at 39. He loves Coca Cola and the Zoo, especially his birthplace (San Diego).

We modified the Ditty bag to add an embroidery of each and increased the dimensions to better fit the trio. Some of their favorite travel spots are Florida and anywhere with "Big Things".

Lately, because of covid, we haven't traveled much other than to Local Quilt Hops. SCK like those too, especially when they find fabrics that look like them or where the shops serve snacks!"

Quilt Shop Highlight

WINNER: ACME Fabric & Quilt Co.

THEIR STORY: "Katrina made both of these bags for her niece to be able to have a choice. She made the rust colored duffle first after conversing with a gal about the same age as her niece. She wanted to make sure her niece would love it and wanted a second opinion.

Katrina didn’t need to gift it for a few months so she left it at our shop. We had it on display, proceeded to sell a couple bolts of these fabrics because everyone just LOVED the bag pattern and the color combinations!

Meanwhile, Katrina has been teaching ByAnnie classes at ACME and getting a lot of our customers hooked on all the ByAnnie products! We will be hosting this Round Trip Duffle bag this fall.

Katrina ended up making a second Round Trip Duffle bag in the purples that her niece actually did receive. Not sure if Katrina ever showed her niece the original color combination but ACME is very thankful to have it on display. ☺️"

WHERE IS THEIR SHOP: Blair, Nebraska

#sewPINK Initiative

WINNER: Jake E

ABOUT: A custom Bosom Buddy, made a little narrower for comfort.

THEIR STORY: “I made the cushion 12" x 3¼" instead of 14" x 6½".

The edge is so close to the belt wrap that it was difficult to bind, so next time I would add a half inch or so to the cushion width."

WHAT WE LOVED: Jake, our videographer and long time team member, got us started off right with this awesome customization.

WHAT THEY WON: $50 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Sandra F

ABOUT: This fun cat themed In Control came out great.

THEIR STORY: "I love cats and this whimsical fabric was perfect for this project!

I like the fact of a small caddy for all my sewing goodies and notions. The fabric and the pattern fit together perfectly.

I love looking at it and being organized as well. ByAnnie patterns are always well written and enjoyable to complete."

WHAT WE LOVED: Jake, one of our resident cat lovers, chose this as his favorite for the bright colors, contrast with the grass and (of course) the cats.

WHAT THEY WON: $15 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Stephanie R

ABOUT: Staying productive while procrastinating and making this awesome Needle Case and Wool Pin Cushion set.

THEIR STORY: "I just loved this pattern! I was looking for a way to organize my needles and this pattern ticked every box including the printable info cards.

I’m procrastinating finishing a quilt by making smaller projects, and honing my skills. I took the opportunity to practice binding mitered corners and am happy with the results.

Necessity is the mother of invention, and since I didn’t have any twill tape, I printed the labels for the wool pages on fabric with a light fusible on the back. I think it came out great. I used a decorative rope stitch to make the divisions and just love it.

Can’t wait to tackle my next project"

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie found it to be a real treat to see the cork bottoms that Stephanie added to her wool pincushions. Such a fun enhancement!

WHAT THEY WON: $15 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Valerie C

ABOUT: What a lucky new mother! A new Changing Station and all the additional goodies.

THEIR STORY: "I’m fairly new to the By Annie patterns and up until now I’ve only made the free patterns, Petit Four, Pencil Case for Lola, Easy Does It and PieceKeeper.

Even though there is not an Add On Video for Changing Station, I found it straightforward thanks to the experience I gathered making the free patterns.

I even made a small mesh bag for laundering PeePee TeePees so they don’t get lost in the washer/dryer. I made my own pattern just by using techniques that I learned in the other By Annie patterns!

This bag is for our daughter who is expecting her first child, in 3 days! I also made the quilt in the background. "

WHAT WE LOVED: Valerie's matching set for the new baby is incredible. I love everything about it! The quilt is so fabulous and I love that she made a Changing Station, peepee teepees, and a mesh laundry bag to accompany it. That baby is going to travel in style!

WHAT THEY WON: $15 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com
