WINNER: Celly B @quiltinginfo
PATTERN: Ultimate Travel Bag
THEIR STORY: “I hate to exercise, and when my niece’s birthday party was at the skate ring, I remembered that I do love to roller skate!! I got a pair of skates, and asked for pink light up wheels for Christmas. I then had the best looking skates, but I had to find a bag to carry them in. I searched the internet for one to buy and only found ugly ones. My vision for a bag came to light when I saw the pattern Ultimate Travler Bag 2.0. I had so much fun making it and loved the skate embroidery on the soft vinyl!!! When I take it to the skating ring, I get lots of compliments and get asked where I got it. It puts such a big smile on my face when I get to say, “I made it!” My favorite part is that it glows under the lights!! "
WHAT WE LOVED: Our team member Randi had this to say, "The roller skating theme tugged at my GenX heartstrings. I am also a huge fan of fussy cutting, and I love the use of vinyl and ribbons."

Storyteller Award
WINNER: Suzanne K
PATTERN: Bosom Buddy
THEIR STORY: "My labrador Simba, 2.5 weeks ago required emergency abdominal surgery due to 3 blockages of towelling in his digestive system. I had a thought just before he was due to come home about making a bosom buddy to make it easier on his long wound on his belly whilst travelling home from the vet. I made it out of flannel to make it more soft. I made a modification by 3 inches for the “belt area” and it worked. So thank you By Annie Team, it just goes to show that human patterns can be adjusted for our “furry” humans. "

WINNER: Maria O
PATTERN: Ultimate Travel Bag
THEIR STORY: "I love to rescue vintage sewing machines from the dumpster, restore them to working order, and sew with them. For this project I used my refurbished 83 year old sewing machine, which chomped right through all the layers of fabric and Soft and Stable, making it such a joy to sew this bag... naturally, I had to share a photo of it with my newly finished travel bag! I made this bag using fabric from my stash for the outside, but I couldn’t resist upcycling: one of my husband's old shirts became the inside lining (the chest pocket is still there!), and a retired light blue bed sheet stepped in for the binding. From my sewing tools to the materials that I use, I love being able to give old things new life. "
WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say, "LOVED seeing the use of her husband's shirt for the lining and a bedsheet for the bindings. Plus awesome to hear that she sewed the bag on her 83-year-old Singer. Great story and great photos, too!"

WINNER: Judy D @judydavid0606
PATTERN: Every Day Every Way
THEIR STORY: "This is a carry on travel bag that I made for my best friend. I changed one of the inside pockets to a half pocket with mesh and folded elastic edge. Didn’t need the bellows pocket, since it is not a diaper bag. I also left off the backpack straps and adjusted the size of the border on the front and back pockets to accommodate the horses. Both pockets have different views of the horses. My bestie and I go to a Dude Ranch every year to ride horses for a week in a most beautiful setting. She also owns her own horse. I had made a bag from this pattern for myself, and when I saw this fabric from Northcott, I knew that I had to make another using the Spirited line. I just gifted it to her and of course, she loves it! Now it is on to my next By Annie patterns which will be Running with Scissors and Take a Stand. I am a By Annie pattern addict!"
WHAT WE LOVED: Our team member Jacque had this to say, "This is the perfect setting to take this picture. Rural and rustic for the charging horses. Also, who doesn't love a bag with horses on it?"

WINNER: Natalia A
PATTERN: Ultimate Travel Bag
THEIR STORY: “I live in Kenya working as a doctor for a humanitarian organization. I bought a sewing machine at the beginning of Covid to make masks and saw a man auditioning fabrics one of the fabrics shop. He asked me if I was interested in quilting and I did not know what that was. I am originally from Colombia where it is not common. I fell in love with quilting and then one day Facebook proposed me to join the by Annies bag makers. I googled your shop and patterns and fell in love. So now I buy in bulk the patterns and soft and stable ship to Texas and then that company brings the materials to Kenya for a hefty fee but I am enjoying myself very much. I am teaching other friends how to do the easy does it this week and I did a slow along with Randy for the catch all caddy. I am very happy begginer Making these bags brings me lots of mental health and beautiful gifts to share. Thanks Annie and team!"
WHAT WE LOVED: Our team member Payden had this to say, "This Ultimate travel bag is really pretty, I like how the applique looks, the flowers turned out really nice with Soft and Stable. And of course the backdrop in the photo is a great setting for the whole bag!"
