Looking Back at 2018

As we reflect on the past year, we're feeling so grateful for all the wonderful support from each and every one of you. It's been a year full of creativity, busy days, and great projects. Keep reading to see what we've been up to!

It was a busy year of travelling for many of the ByAnnie team members. Here are just a few fabulous shows we attended:

  • January: Road to California - Ontario, CA
  • February: Sewing & Stitchery Expo - Puyallup, WA
  • March: H+H (Handicraft and Hobby Supplies Trade Fair) - Cologne, Germany
  • May: International Quilt Market - Portland, OR
  • November: International Quilt Market - Houston, TX

Aside from shows, Annie also taught many classes around the United States:

  • May: Schoolhouse, Portland, OR
  • September: At Surfside Quilters Guild, San Clemente, CA
  • September: At Once Upon A Quilt, Ft. Lauderdale, FL
  • November: Schoolhouse, Houston, TX
  • November: At Sunset Slope Quilters and Colorado West Quilters, Grand Junction, CO

Annie also had the absolute pleasure of teaching her first international classes in Australia during June and July!
She was able to visit eight different quilt shops around the country where she met lots of wonderful people. With her instruction, they were able to make some pretty amazing bags!

In between classes, Annie enjoyed sight-seeing, experiencing the local culture and going on a few adventures...like visiting some orphaned kangaroos (Joeys)

When we weren't on the road, we were busy in-house working on a variety of exciting projects.

In February, we held our first annual "Win A Free Trunk Show Contest." We asked customers from around the country to vote for their favorite local quilt shop and tell us why that shop was special to them.

The winner, with hundreds of votes, was The Old Country Store in Intercourse, PA!

We were excited to see that they used their free trunk show to help celebrate their 40th anniversary.

We were also thrilled to launch the new ByAnnie Monthly Photo Contest in July. This contest was designed to highlight all the hard work that goes into making projects using our patterns and products. It's also a fun way for you to inspire and encourage makers like yourself.

It has been so great seeing all the beautiful projects that have been made and we really enjoy reading about your experiences and sharing them with the sewing community.

To date, we've received over 700 images, which can be viewed in the photo gallery on our website. Below are some of the lovely pictures from our Grand Prize Winners during 2018. To see photos from the runners-up, be sure to take a look at our Winner's Gallery!

If you'd like to enter our monthly contest, check out our Rules and Submissions Guidelines. You could have the chance to win a $50 or $10 coupon to be used on ByAnnie.com USA!

It was a busy year in the studio as well. Annie created over 10 new patterns and the team kept themselves busy sewing dozens and dozens of models. Have you tried sewing any of these new patterns? Let us know what you think in the comments!

We also introduced our brand new hardware sets of two.

Now it's easier than ever to mix and match hardware pieces for any project you're working on.

Fun tip: Once you've used the hardware, the handy containers can be used as storage to organize pins, buttons, jewelry or other small treasures!

This past year also brought a new partnership with Lynne Wilson Designs. You can now find 14 of her beautiful patterns for quilts, tote bag, and pillows on ByAnnie.com!
Be sure to follow her on Instagram and Facebook @lynnehqw to see pictures of her wonderful creations.

We also watched our team grow this year as new employees were brought in to join the fun. We've enjoyed working together to assemble and ship products, test patterns, sew new models, film Add-on Videos for our patterns and interact with the sewing community through social media! Here are just a few of our behind-the-scenes moments:

At the end of the day, it's all about working together to make sure we can deliver the best possible goods and services we can. Here are a few fun facts:

Thanks for a fantastic year!
